1. Anthony Davis

Perhaps the biggest surprise on this list has been Anthony Davis but it's to the surprise of no one after having one of the most impressive starts to a season in league history.

Davis hasn't just led the Los Angeles Lakers to one of their best starts in recent history, but fans are buzzing about Davis and his dominance on the floor during the first three games of the season.

Davis has averaged 34 points on an impressive 57 percent from the field. Under first-time head coach JJ Reddick, Davis has become the focal point of the Lakers' offense. He is not only taking more threes but Davis is also landing them at a 40 percent clip.

While Davis wasn't favored to make a splash in the MVP conversations this season, he has already begun to make voters think twice about who could potentially win this season. It's way too early to seriously debate who is going to win MVP but Davis has emerged as a potential candidate after the first week.

In the Lakers' impressive win over the Sacramento Kings, he and LeBron James helped lead the team to an improbable comeback during the fourth quarter. In Saturday night's action, the Lakers were down by double-digits as they entered the fourth and the two superstars led the team to a potential season-defining win this early into the year.

Davis will need to continue to post similar numbers as he has done this first week if he wants to seriously be in MVP conversations once again in his career.
