2. Jayson Tatum

After winning the franchise's first NBA title in over 15 years, Jayson Tatum looks to do what he did last year and help the Boston Celtics return to the NBA Finals. Boston not only has one of the most impressive rosters in the league, but the Celtics virtually have the same roster as they did last year with the addition of some rookie talent.

After getting scrutinized in the Olympic games for riding the bench during most of Team USA's run, Tatum has looked even better than his last season form. With a returning roster, the Celtics are not only the favorites to win back-to-back titles, but Tatum could make an argument for winning MVP during the regular season.

The Celtics opened up their season with one of the most impressive opening-night displays of dominance over their bitter rival New York Knicks. The team tied the league record for threes made in a single game and Tatum led all Celtics in scoring with an impressive 37-points on ring night.

In the following two games, the Celtics have played lesser opponents but they made it known that they are not here to play around. The Celtics beat the Washington Wizards by an impressive 20-point margin and then followed that win up with a win over the Detroit Pistons.

Everyone will be looking for inconsistencies when it comes to the Celtics and Tatum, but after just one week, the team has proved every doubter wrong.

With Doncic and Gilgeous-Alexander expected to be the leaders in MVP talks this season, Tatum will need to play how he has for all 82 games if he wishes to win his first award.
