Ever since the Dallas Mavericks traded Luka Doncic at the beginning of last month, everything has been different. From the vibes in the city to the product on the floor that plays 41 times a year at the American Airlines Center, everything has felt drastically different, and the wind has been removed from their sails. This move came out of nowhere, and the fan base has been furious, to say the absolute least.

From fans participating in a protest outside of the arena to fans requesting refunds on their season tickets shortly after the trade, this organization has seen it all. Things have not been easy, and they're not doing themselves any favors either.

From leaked reports about Doncic's conditioning, leadership concerns, and off-court habits to rumors of the Mavericks not being willing to sign him to a supermax deal this summer, Mavs fans have been upset about how things have gone down. Seemingly every week something new happens regarding the organization that fans don't like, and this week has been no different.

Mavericks hike up season ticket prices at worst possible time

On Monday, it was announced that Mavericks season ticket prices will rise by 8.61 percent, which is normal considering ticket prices go up every single year, but considering the state of the team right now, it might not have been the smartest time to put out this announcement. Season ticket holders are still furious over the Doncic trade, and it sounds like many Mavs season ticket holders won't be renewing.

The raise in ticket prices wasn't even the craziest thing about this, as their reasoning for it exposes how tone deaf they have been over the last month. The season ticket price "increases reflect ongoing investments in team and fan engagement, the team said in a statement."

The entire reason Mavericks fans are angry right now is because of the moves they have made over the last month, and most fans don't feel like the organization is in touch with their feelings at all. Rather than thanking Doncic on his way out the door, they have found every way to tear him down with different leaks about his conditioning, off-court habits, and leadership, and fans couldn't be more angry about the direction of the team. They went as far as to trade the face of the city and the player who took them all the way to the NBA Finals last season, and some fans may never forgive the front office for it.

It's unfair to grade the team at their current state, especially after Kyrie Irving went down with a knee injury on Monday night, and only time will tell how the Doncic trade ends up working out. Anthony Davis is one of the best bigs in the league when fully healthy, but he is injured right now as well.

The city of Dallas wanted to go through the ups and downs of Doncic's career by his side, just like they did with Dirk Nowitzki, but now they'll never get that chance with Doncic. Them jacking up ticket prices even more while the fan base is still mourning the Doncic trade only added fuel to the fire, and depending on how they finish out the season, the frustration will be even higher.
