Dallas Mavericks starting lineup for Jason Kidd to consider: 1. Go small

Point guard: Luka Doncic

Shooting guard: Tim Hardaway Jr.

Small forward: Reggie Bullock

Power forward: Dorian Finney-Smith

Center: Kristaps Porzingis

Bringing in Reggie Bullock to the starting five allows Dallas to upgrade on the defensive side of the ball while giving them a tremendous 3-point shooter. He shot 41.0 percent from deep last season with the Knicks.

Bullock and Dorian Finney-Smith can handle the opposition’s best scorers. Having this lineup would sure up the defensive end for Dallas and allow them to switch when necessary.

All four options would provide excellent shooting and floor spacing for Luka Doncic. Going small could be the Mavs’ best option for success on both ends of the floor. Kristaps Porzingis needs to protect the rim and stay healthy when matched against fives every night.

This unit is the Dallas Mavericks most likely starting lineup. Allowing Luka to attack and kick out to shooters is what he does best. Jalen Brunson can be the secondary ball-handler off the bench that comes in to dominate second units.
