Grading the Dallas Mavericks agreeing to re-sign Boban Marjanovic

The Mavs prioritized re-signing Boban. The 7’4 big man has brought so much to Dallas. Some will question how someone that play a total of 271 minutes last season can be a must re-sign player, but that undersells Marjanovic’s value to the Mavericks.

First, he is a fantastic teammate and positive locker room presence. Bobi keeps things light and always has a smile on his face. That is important in pressure-packed moments. Marjanovic is beloved by his teammates and plays a key role off the court.

Boban can change the game on it too. The 7’4 big man’s size and strength are difficult for the opposition to deal with as he is a walking double-double. The skilled big man makes his free throws and is almost unstoppable in the paint.

Tim MacMahon reported the two sides agreed to a one-year deal, but the details of the contract were not released.

Dallas Mavericks grade for agreeing to re-sign Boban Marjanovic: A

The Mavs re-signed Boban to a one-year deal likely for the veteran minimum. Marjanovic is a key piece for the organization both on and off the floor. The 7’4 big man will continue to make Tobias Harris jealous as Marjanovic stays in Dallas to play next to his friend Luka Doncic. The Dallas Mavericks earned an A for quickly reeling in an important part of their locker room and team culture.
