Dallas Mavericks pivotal change that could still happen: 4. Major roster shakeup

The Mavs are keeping Luka Doncic, but everyone else on the roster could be traded this offseason. The entire world saw the 22-year-old’s supporting cast is not good enough to contend for a title. They lost the LA Clippers in the first round of the playoffs, despite Luka averaging 35.7 points, 10.3 assists, and 7.9 rebounds per game on 49.0 percent shooting from the field. The Mavericks need to get him help immediately.

Back-to-back first-round exits with a top-five player in the league usually force teams to shake things up. The addition of new decision-makers makes it even more likely that the Mavericks are going to be active this offseason.

Fans could see multiple trades and maneuvers to improve the roster. The biggest decision comes in re-signing Tim Hardaway Jr. Dallas can choose to have cap space or retain THJ’s services. They could make trades to create space, but letting Hardaway Jr. go is the easiest avenue to being major players in free agency. Expect the Mavs to bring him back and shake up the roster elsewhere.

The Dallas Mavericks are going to be active and aggressive this offseason. Will their be a major shakeup? Only time will tell.
