2021 NBA Draft mock #1: Cleveland Cavaliers: Cade Cunningham
The Cavaliers jumped up four spots in the simulated lottery to grab the number one overall pick. Cade Cunningham has taken over as the consensus number one pick. He is a 6’8 point guard that compared himself to Luka Doncic on The Old Man and the Three podcast. Hear the projected top selection below.
Cunningham averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.6 steals in 35.4 minutes per game during his lone season at Oklahoma State. The 19-year-old shot 40.0 percent from 3-point range over 155 attempts as the focal point of the Cowboys’ offense. He could be a special shooter in the NBA with improved floor spacing.
Cunningham’s unique skill set makes him the top prospect. He can shoot, pass, rebound, handle the ball, make plays, and has the potential to grow into a plus-defender. At 6’8, the former Cowboy will be difficult to stop in the NBA.
Every team in the lottery is dreaming of jumping up for the right to select Cade Cunningham. The 19-year-old has the potential to be a multiple-time All-NBA selection and a true superstar. The Cavaliers remarkably jumped up the mock lottery. If they do it on June 22, it will be the fifth time they have won the lottery since 2003.
