The Dallas Mavericks are red hot right now. They dropped their last game to the Blazers, but have won six of their last eight. Superstar Luka Doncic has scored 25 or more points in a franchise-record 14 straight contests. The Mavs are making a move up the standings and are right back in the playoff picture.

They were set to wrap up a seven-game homestand on Feb. 17 against the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons had their game against the Spurs postponed because of COVID issues within San Antonio’s team. Detroit has won three of their last four and are prioritizing playing their young talent. They announced on Monday that Blake Griffin will sit out until the Pistons can make a trade or buyout the All-Star forward.

The Mavericks and Pistons will not play on Wednesday night, though. Here is a look at the latest.

Dallas Mavericks game vs. Detroit Pistons postponed by weather

Shams Charania broke the news on Tuesday morning. See his tweet below.

The Dallas Stars had to postpone two games because of the conditions. Many Texas residents are without power as severe weather has blasted the area in recent days. Hopefully, everyone is staying warm and safe in the frigid conditions.

The Dallas Mavericks will make up the game during the second half of the season. The NBA still has not released the remaining schedule as it planned to have to schedule in makeup games. Dallas has a contest against the Pelicans to makeup as well.

The Mavs will return to action on Friday as they travel to Houston to face the Rockets. John Wall and company have lost six straight and face the Sixers in Philadelphia on Wednesday. The Rockets will be up for the division rival Mavericks, though. Expect an entertaining game as Luka Doncic tries to say hot on Feb. 19. Do not miss it.
