The Dallas Mavericks were forced to go deep into their bench earlier this season as COVID issues ravaged the team. They had just 11 healthy players at points, which meant minutes for everyone suited up. The Mavs are finally healthy and heating up after a slow start.

Dallas sent three players to the G League bubble to get minutes with everyone back on the floor. The Texas Legends opted out of the season, so all three were sent to different teams. Second-round picks dueled on Monday as Tyrell Terry and the Hustle got the upper hand over Tyler Bey and the Stars. Undrafted rookie Nate Hinton was transferred to the Santa Cruz Warriors to get additional minutes.

Hinton shined in his first game with his new squad. He produced a must-see dunk and showed his potential. Let us take a closer look.

Hinton came off the bench on Feb. 15 as the Warriors face the Raptors 905. He got the fans watching at home out of their seats with a monster dunk in transition.

Hinton finished with nine points, seven rebounds, and two steals in 20 minutes of action. The 21-year-old barely played in his two games with the Long Island Nets. He was a strong rebounder and defender in college with a developing 3-point shot. The Dallas Mavericks are hoping he blossoms into a 3-and-D wing in the NBA. Hinton makes plays in transition and could help Dallas speed things up a bit.

Hinton should continue to play more with the G League Warriors. They face the Canton Charge on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. CT. Fans can watch on ESPN-plus. Santa Cruz has Jeremy Lin, Jordan Poole, and Nico Mannion playing in the backcourt. They promise to bring excitement, and supporters can get a closer look at Hinton’s game. Do not miss it.
