Dallas Mavericks: 5 players who need more playing time
The Dallas Mavericks are searching for consistency at the start of the 2020-2021 season. They have blown out three playoff teams from last season in the Clippers, Heat, and Rockets, but were on the other end of one-sided scores against the Lakers and Hornets. The Mavs have three wins in their first seven games. They display the promise of an elite team but need to bring that on a nightly basis.
Dallas should only improve. Kristaps Porzingis is still recovering from offseason knee surgery and has not played a minute this season. The Unicorn’s return is fast approaching, and he will give the Mavericks a lift on both ends of the floor.
Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle is still figuring out his rotations. The lopsided scores have allowed fans to get a look at nearly every player on the roster. After seven games, here are five players that need more playing time.
Dallas Mavericks who need more playing time in the 2020-2021 season
There are two groups for the Mavs on a list like this. Some players need more minutes for their development, but they are not going to help Dallas win games right now. All four rookies fit that category and are hurt by not having a G League season. They could all use minutes to speed up their development.
The other group will primarily be discussed here. These players need more playing time because they can help the Dallas Mavericks win. Let us take a look.
