Dallas Mavericks: Luka Doncic third in Bleacher Report top 100 players
The Dallas Mavericks start a new season on Wednesday in Phoenix. Luka Doncic plans on leading the Mavs to a championship in his third NBA season. It will be no easy task, but the superstar is set to take another leap. He is favored to win MVP, but team success is the 21-year-old’s ultimate goal.
The Mavericks need a healthy Kristaps Porzingis. The 7’3 Unicorn is recovering from a meniscus repair this offseason. He will not be ready to start the 2020-2021 season, but fans have seen him doing light on-court activities already. KP hopes to be back in January. Keeping him healthy will be key to a deep playoff run.
The Mavs are an improved team. They traded for Josh Richardson and James Johnson this offseason plus added four talented rookies to improve their depth. Bleacher Report released their top 100 players heading into the 2020-2021 season on Dec. 21. Where did the Mavericks rank?

B/R nailed the ranking for Mavs star Luka Doncic. The 21-year-old was third on their list behind only Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James. Doncic could take over the top spot soon, but the Greek Freak has won two straight MVPs and LeBron is fresh off leading the Lakers to a championship.
Luka was fourth in ESPN’s rankings heading into this season.
Josh Richardson checked in at 84 on the list with Porzingis at 39. Both Mavericks were slightly too low. JRich is coming off a down season in Philadelphia and there are questions about KP’s health. Those likely pushed down the rankings, but expect massive years.
Dallas Mavericks fans should be excited about the season ahead. Luka Doncic promises to bring plenty of excitement as the Mavs attempt to climb up the Western Conference standings. Supports will not want to miss a second of the action, so keep it locked right here for all the latest.
