Dallas Mavericks: What to watch for in preseason game 2 vs. Bucks

The Dallas Mavericks opened the preseason on Saturday evening against the Milwaukee Bucks. Luka Doncic and the Mavs got off to a slow start, but the bench dominated the second half for a Dallas win. Doncic was one of seven from the field in the first quarter before finding his footing in the second to finish with 13 points. See his best plays here.

The two teams face off for the second time on Dec. 14. This is a part of the shortened schedule for the 2020-2021 season. Teams will play in the same city multiple times in one trip. It is a fantastic test to start with two games against one of the NBA’s elite teams.

Fans will not want to miss Monday’s game. Here is how and why they should watch the second preseason game between the Mavs and Bucks.

The Mavs will once again be without Kristaps Porzingis in the second preseason game. The only other player that did not see minutes in the opener was Courtney Lee. He is still going through his coronavirus testing. The rest of the roster is healthy, but the Mavericks could decide to rest players in this preseason contest.

The Bucks are fully healthy heading into Monday’s game. Fans should check Twitter just before tipoff to see if anyone is sitting out in the second preseason game.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Milwaukee Bucks storyline to follow: Battle of the starters

The Mavs made a hockey line change with just under four minutes remaining in the first quarter in the first meeting trailing 17-11. Luka and the Mavs struggled on the offensive end. The starters played better in the second quarter but finished minus nine in 16 minutes of action on Saturday.

The Bucks have one of the best starting units in the NBA. Dallas can matchup, though. They will be looking to win the battle of the starters in the second meeting. That will be a key to grabbing a win because they should play more minutes on Monday. Fans will not want to miss Luka Doncic’s magic against the Bucks, so please tune in and enjoy the game.
