Dallas Mavericks: Get a first look at Tyrell Terry in Mavs uniform

The Dallas Mavericks were focused on improving their defense this offseason. It led to trading for Josh Richardson and drafting Josh Green in the first round. When the Mavs second-round selection came up, Tyrell Terry was too good to pass up. The 20-year-old may be the best shooter in the class. He is ready to come in and knock down jumpers from day one in the NBA.

Terry slipped into the second round because of questions about his size. He was listed at 6’1 and 160 pounds during his lone season at Stanford. He reportedly grew two inches and added 20 pounds during the hiatus, but that still gives him a slight frame for an NBA guard. The Mavericks believe he can transform into Seth Curry during his prime. Dallas was ecstatic when he slipped into round two because they had a first-round grade on him.

The Mavs did not have their traditional media day because of the pandemic, but fans got a glimpse of Terry in a Mavericks uniform for the first time this week. Let us take a closer look.

Terry posted the photos on his Instagram with a caption for his doubters. See it all below.

It will be a struggle for Tyrell Terry to crack the rotation this season. The 20-year-old would have to pass Jalen Brunson or Trey Burke to earn minutes, which is unlikely. Terry will have to wait for an injury to get his first crack at playing time.

Fans should tune into the preseason games to see him. Terry can shoot the lights out. Expect him to be an offensive force in the Dallas Mavericks rotation by the end of his rookie contract. All Tyrell Terry needs is time to blossom.
