The offseason will be over in the blink of an eye which could create plenty of chaos. How will teams react will less time to set their roster? Training camps are set to open on Dec. 1 meaning we are less than one month away. It promises to be exciting.
Will the Dallas Mavericks play on Christmas Day?
The NBA’s reasoning for starting on Dec. 22 is to get in their annual Christmas Day slate of games. The league’s television partners wanted those as they are a massive rating booster on the holiday.
Mavericks’ fans want to know if Dallas will be part of the five games this year? They have not played in once since 2011, but Brad Townsend believes they are on tap to change that in 2020.
The Mavs playing on Christmas only makes sense. Luka Doncic received the second most All-Star fan votes last season. He is one of the league’s most popular players, so why not showcase the Mavericks on Christmas Day.
Who will Dallas play on the holiday? Nobody knows yet. Expect the schedule to be released in November, but there are plenty of potential juicy matchups. Fans know the Lakers, Clippers, and Warriors will be part of the Christmas Day games. Assuming there is at least one Eastern Conference matchup, that leaves Dallas with a matchup against the Nuggets, Rockets, Pelicans, or one of the three California teams. It should be fun.
