Dallas Mavericks: Jalen Brunson did not like Lou Williams when he was a kid
The Dallas Mavericks cannot wait to get Jalen Brunson back on the court. The 24-year-old missed the restart as he continued to rehab from shoulder surgery, which is what made last week’s dunk so incredible to watch. Brunson is 100 percent healthy and should be a full-go in training camp whenever it begins.
Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle unlocked a few new wrinkles in Orlando playing Trey Burke next to Luka Doncic. It will be interesting to see if Brunson can grab that role next season. The 6’1 guard has proven he can produce outstanding numbers when given the opportunity at additional minutes. Carlisle has been hesitant to play Luka and Brunson together for significant stretches so far during their young careers, so stay tuned to see how it shakes out.
Brunson let fans know the player he was not a fan of as a kid on Oct. 21. Let us take a closer look.

Brunson responded to a SportsCenter tweet on Wednesday. Take a look below.
Jalen’s father Rick played nine seasons in the NBA with nine different teams. The journeyman struggled to grab a consistent role but continued to find work. His last stop was a training camp invite with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2006, but he failed to make the opening night roster as a 20-year-old Lou Williams won the spot.
It is crazy to think more than a decade later, Jalen Brunson is doing battle with Williams in the NBA. The 33-year-old has transformed into one of the best sixth men of all-time. Clearly, there are no hard feelings between Jalen Brunson and Lou Williams now, but it was fun to see JB share the story.
