The Dallas Mavericks exceeded all expectations this season. Coming in, they were viewed as a fringe playoff team with potential. Led by the superstar breakout of Luka Doncic, the Mavs snapped their postseason drought and proved to be a team on the rise.

One thing that stood out about the 2019-2020 Mavericks was their bond. The group enjoyed spending time together. Their team chemistry was so strong that the front office did not trade the expiring contract of Courtney Lee at the deadline. Their closeness paid off inside the Walt Disney World bubble because friends and family were not allowed in.

It is hilarious that Luka Doncic is the only one smiling in most of the photos. Taking the top spot would have to be one following his incredible playoff game-winning buzzer-beater. That shot will go down as one of the great ones in Mavericks’ history. The pure joy the entire team showed after the moment was also something to behold.

The best is yet to come from the Mavs. Doncic has his sights set on leading them to a championship as he takes home MVP honors in 2021. That may be too soon, but Dallas is on the path to title contention. Luka could be the league’s best player in a few years too.
