Dallas Mavericks: Adjustments the team should make in Game 6 against the LA Clippers
The Dallas Mavericks had a night to forget on Tuesday. They were dominated in game five as the LA Clippers snatched the three games to two series lead. Luka Doncic and the Mavs must win two straight to keep their season alive and advance to the next round.
Dallas has played two straight games without Kristaps Porzingis. The 7’3 Unicorn injured his knee in the playoff opener. He battled through the pain for two straight games, but things got worse heading into game four. Mavs fans found out on Friday that KP has a torn meniscus and will miss the rest of the series.
The Clippers took full advance of Porzingis being out in game five. That means the Mavericks will have to make adjustments on Sunday. Here is a look at how Dallas can change it up in game six.
Adjustments the Dallas Mavericks should make in Game 6 against the LA Clippers
The Clippers pulled out a few adjustments they had been saving in game five. They switched the matchups to put Paul George and Kawhi Leonard on Luka Doncic more. Clippers coach Doc Rivers also used Marcus Morris against Maxi Kleber and Ivica Zubac on Dorian Finney-Smith. That meant Dallas had to make Finney-Smith the screener if they wanted the Luka mismatch on Zubac.
LA also double-teamed and tried for the force the ball from Doncic’s hands in game five. Expect that to continue on Sunday.
The Mavericks were run out of the gym because the Clippers did not miss. They scored 111 points and lost by 43. Dallas needs to be better on the defensive end of the floor. They will change it up too. Here are five adjustments the Dallas Mavericks should make in game six.
