Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is out versus Utah Jazz in their sixth seeding game

The Dallas Mavericks got a key win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Aug. 8. Luka Doncic led the way for the team. He had a 36-point triple-double as the Mavs scored 136 points against the NBA’s best defense. It was a thrilling game that showed Dallas is ready for the postseason.

The Mavericks are facing their first back-to-back of the season’s restart on Monday and Tuesday. They play a matinee against the Utah Jazz before facing the Portland Trail Blazers. The team decided against pushing their players after the long layoff.

Luka Doncic is one of five Mavs ruled out on the NBA’s official injury report ahead of Monday’s game. Let us take a look at the latest.

Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic ruled out versus Jazz with an ankle ailment

The official report lists it as right ankle injury recovery for Doncic. The team is just being cautious with their star player as the postseason approaches. He will be joined on the bench by Kristaps Porzingis and Dorian Finney-Smith.

It will be next man up for Dallas. Expect to see plenty of Maxi Kleber and Boban Marjanovic filling in at the five for KP. Delon Wright, Seth Curry, and Tim Hardaway Jr. must step up in the backcourt to make the offense run. The Mavs could also use J.J. Barea against the Jazz.

It is sad to see Luka on the bench given his recent hot streak. He is averaging 33.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 11.6 assists through five games in Orlando. No player can match that stat line. Fans scoffed when I said Doncic would be the NBA’s best player in the restart. He is well on his way to proving me right.

Expect Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis to be back in the Dallas Mavericks lineup on Tuesday against the Blazers. It should be an exciting showdown as Portland is fighting for their playoffs lives. Fans will not want to miss either game.
