Dallas Mavericks star Kristaps Porzingis out vs. Pacers after missing a test

The Dallas Mavericks are still adjusting to the new normal inside the bubble in Orlando. Players are not allowed to leave the campus. They have to follow a strict novel coronavirus testing protocol as well. The NBA is trying to keep everyone safe during the season’s conclusion.

There have been a few hiccups along the way. Richaun Holmes, Bruno Caboclo, and Lou Williams have all found themselves dealing with the circumstances of breaking protocol and missing time.

Mavericks star Kristaps Porzingis had an issue on Saturday that will force him to miss at least one scrimmage game. Let us take a closer look.

The Mavs put out the following statement about KP on Sunday afternoon.

Porzingis is out for the team’s second scrimmage against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. Hopefully, he can return to practice on July 27. Stay tuned for more on this developing story.

KP being out throws a wrench in the Mavericks’ plans. Dallas wants to play small during the restart with Porzingis starting at the five. It will be interesting to see how the Mavericks shift with the Unicorn out.

The Mavs have one more scrimmage. They play the Philadelphia 76ers on July 28. Hopefully, Kristaps Porzingis is back in action by then.

Games that count begin on July 31. The Mavericks face the Houston Rockets to open their slate. It will be an important game in standings. The Rockets are just 1.5 games up on Dallas coming in. A Mavericks win would go a long way in passing Houston.
