Dallas Mavericks guard J.J. Barea has his trick shots on display in Orlando

The Dallas Mavericks are continuing to ramp up their workouts in Orlando. The NBA’s restart begins for real on July 31 when the Mavs face the Rockets. Coach Rick Carlisle will have the team ready for that game.

Fans are enjoying the unprecedented nature and access from the bubble. To recap, all 22 teams taking part in the restart traveled to Disney World. They are staying on the campus to limit the risk of contracting the novel coronavirus. Family and friends are not allowed in Orlando yet. That means spending plenty of downtime with teammates.

The Mavericks have taken to showing off their trick shots at practice. Luka Doncic is the king here. He makes a seemingly impossible one every day. Here is the shot from July 14. Luka is not the only Mav with the bag of tricks, though.

More. Why the Mavs are the most underrated team in Orlando

The Mavericks posted a video of J.J. Barea nailing two trick shots during the team’s workout on Wednesday. Check them out below.

Fans are hoping to see a game of HORSE between the Mavs legend and Luka Doncic. Both players have plenty of difficult makes up their sleeves.

Expect Barea to shoulder a larger workload in Orlando. Jalen Brunson is out after undergoing season-ending surgery. That means the 36-year-old will have to step up and fill the backup point guard role. Barea is going carve up some defenses with his pick and roll game. It will be a joy to watch. More minutes will be available as the Mavs play more small ball in the restart too.

Dallas Mavericks fans can expect to see plenty more from both on and off the court in Orlando at The Smoking Cuban, so stay tuned for all the latest.
