Spencer Dinwiddie and Taurean Prince out for Orlando: How it impacts the Dallas Mavericks
The novel coronavirus is hitting the Brooklyn Nets hard. DeAndre Jordan opted out after testing positive in late June. News broke on Tuesday that both Spencer Dinwiddie and Taurean Prince are also sidelined for the restart after positive tests.
The Nets are struggling to find healthy bodies at this point. Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Wilson Chandler, and Nicholas Claxton will not play in Orlando.
Brooklyn will be relying heavily on Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, and Joe Harris to lead them during the restart. It will be interesting to see if any of their players can showcase their game in an increased role. Fans should keep an eye on it during the seeding games.
Brooklyn is currently seventh in the Eastern Conference, but only a half-game up on the Magic. It seems likely that they will slip to eighth in Orlando. That means a first round matchup against the Bucks.
The Nets play the LA Clippers on Aug. 9. Expect Kawhi Leonard and company to be massive favorites. Dallas is hoping for a Clippers victory. They want LA to hold onto the second seed as the Mavericks move up to avoid that first round playoff matchup.
