Dallas Mavericks: Courtney Lee wants to be part of team’s traveling party to Orlando
The Dallas Mavericks are one of 22 teams heading to Orlando for the NBA’s restart. Disney World will be where they end their playoff drought. The Mavs want more, though. They hope to advance past the first round for the first time since winning it all in 2011.
The path to achieving that goal will not be without roadblocks. Dallas has already had a few. Jalen Brunson, Dwight Powell, and Courtney Lee will all miss NBA Disney. Willie Cauley-Stein has opted out. The Mavericks will have to change things up a bit to win games in Orlando.
Dallas has already done that by agreeing to a deal with Trey Burke. The veteran point guard gives the team another steady option off the bench. Fans can read more about what the signing means for the Mavs here.
Lee will be out with calf injury, but that does not mean he won’t go to Orlando. Let us take a look at some news on that front.

Marc Stein broke the news on Lee on Saturday evening.
The Mavs kept him at the trade deadline because they valued his locker room contributions. Coach Rick Carlisle trusted him to shoot well and play solid defense. That alone could have earned him postseason minutes. Fans will never get to find out now.
Expect the Mavericks to keep Lee on the roster. That means they will only have 14 healthy players in Orlando if they take both men on two-way contracts. Expect them to be all heads on deck. The Mavericks will have to hope to stay healthy. One more injury could be a massive blow given the state of their roster.
