Dallas Mavericks impacted by Lakers guard Avery Bradley opting out of NBA Disney

The Dallas Mavericks are preparing for the NBA’s restart. 22 teams will head to Orlando in July to crown a 2020 champion. The league is navigating a lot of obstacles to make that reality.

The Mavs will be without three players during NBA Disney. Dwight Powell, Jalen Brunson, and Courtney Lee have all suffered season-ending injuries. The Mavericks may choose to waive Lee’s expiring contract and replace him with a free agent before heading to Orlando. Fans should keep an eye on how it plays out.

The restart plan should favor the youth of the Mavericks. 21-year-old superstar Luka Doncic will be leading Dallas into the playoffs. Fans can read more about why the plan is perfect for the Mavs here.

Teams began testing on Tuesday. It is the first step in a lengthy process of finishing the season. Players can choose to opt-out until rosters are set on July 1. That is starting to happen.

On June 23, Los Angeles Lakers guard Avery Bradley decided against playing in the season’s restart, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The 29-year-old started 44 games this season. He is a key 3-and-D wing in the Lakers’ success. Bradley averages 8.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.9 steals in 24.2 minutes per game this season. He has made the All-NBA Defensive team twice in his career.

The Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference. Losing a starter will not be easy on them.
