Jackson was playing an inconsistent role before the NBA suspended play on March 11. Over the last 20 games, he averaged 14.5 minutes per in the 16 he played. Jackson was a DNP-CD in four others.
The 25-year-old struggled to hit his jumpers this season. That left him on the outside looking in for significant minutes as the season progressed. Jackson could find his shooting stroke during training camp 2.0 and earn more run. Assuming that does not happen, expect the third-year forward to out of the playoff rotation in Orlando.
Ranking Dallas Mavericks impact if they miss NBA Orlando: 12. Courtney Lee
Lee has played a limited on-court role for the Mavericks this season. He averaged 14.4 minutes per in his 24 games. Coach Rick Carlisle has opted to start him nine times, though. The Mavericks like him as matchups options because of his defense and shooting abilities. Seven of his nine starts came against teams playing Orlando.
Lee has been ruled for NBA Orlando after suffering a calf injury. The Mavs will miss him. Lee provides leadership and a veteran presence for the Mavericks along with his on-court contributions. Being without him in Disney World will hurt. The Mavs may look waive his expiring contract and add another piece before arriving in Orlando. Stay tuned for all the latest on that front.
