Dallas Mavericks are back at practice facility

The Dallas Mavericks reopened their practice facility for limited voluntary workouts starting on May 28. It provided an opportunity for players to get shots up. For some, that may have been the first time since the NBA suspended play because of the novel coronavirus on March 11. That is a longer break that players are used to without shooting.

The Mavericks were one of the last to open their facility. There are still four teams that have not yet returned according to Marc Stein. Mavs owner Mark Cuban opening up means the NBA is nearing a return. He wanted players to be safe and make sure the league would have the proper protocols in place before allowing his team to open its doors.

Multiple players decided to take advantage of the opportunity. Let us take a look at a few things shared over social media.

Dallas Mavericks are happy to be back

Seth Curry sent out the following tweet on May 28.

Curry is one of the best shooters in the NBA, so it may not take him long to get his rhythm back. The 29-year-old’s ability to space the floor and create his own shot will be important for the Mavericks in the playoffs. Expect Curry to pick up where he left on when the season was suspended. The Mavericks also posted this courtesy of Delon Wright.

Clearly, Boban Marjanovic and Wright look happy to be back. The Mavericks are close group this season that has fun. All the players are missing that bond. It was good to see a few of them sharing it at the practice facility.

The workouts are voluntary right now, but it appears that it won’t last long. The NBA is expected to finalize a plan on returning to play by June 4. That should be music to Mavericks fan’s ears. Basketball will be back this summer. It will not be a moment too soon.
