Dallas Mavericks fans are ecstatic anytime the team is still playing basketball on May 4. That means the Mavs are making a playoff run. It has been a few years, but they are back on track and ready to make it annual occurrence with Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis leading the charge.

May 4 is a special day for Star Wars fans too. It has become Stars Wars Day. Supporters celebrate by watching the movies and pay homage to one of the great movie franchises.

The Dallas Mavericks got in the spirit by posting on Twitter to celebrate. They started off with Luka Doncic dressed as a Jedi.

Dorian Finney-Smith has his birthday on May 4. The Mavs forward turned 27. Wishing him well on his special day too. Finney-Smith was in the midst of a career year when the season was suspended on March 11. He set new career-highs in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and 3-pointers made per game while producing his best field goal and 3-point percentages.
