The Dallas Mavericks can learn a lot from Michael Jordan and his run with the Chicago Bulls. Here are three things they should take from ‘The Last Dance’.

Dallas Mavericks fans and basketball junkies everywhere are tuning into The Last Dance on ESPN. The documentary centered on Michael Jordan and the 1998 Chicago Bulls has captivated us. The lack of live sports coupled with the unseen footage of the GOAT makes it must-watch.

The fact that fans have to tune-in every Sunday to see more makes it special too. It feels like we are all watching it together. That is not common these days with all the binge-watching.

MJ was amazing. He may have been the best player in the NBA from the moment he entered the league in 1984. Jordan averaged 30.1 points per game over his 15-year career. That includes taking off nearly two prime seasons to play baseball and returning for years with the Wizards at age 38.

The Bulls did a fantastic job building a core around him too. Scottie Pippen was one of the league’s best players during the Bulls championship runs. The second three-peat featured Dennis Rodman, one of the all-time great rebounders. Rodman could also defend any player on the court. The Bulls were a special team.

The Dallas Mavericks have a superstar in Luka Doncic. Last season, they added that second piece by trading for Kristaps Porzingis. The Mavs were on course to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016 before the season was suspended.  Reaching the pinnacle is never easy, though.
