Dallas Mavericks forward Justin Jackson sent out a tweet on April 29 that sums up how everyone that enjoys the basketball is feeling right now.

The Dallas Mavericks played their last game what seems like six months ago now. It happened on March 11, but it feels longer. The NBA suspended play that night after Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19.

All our lives have changed significantly in the weeks since. From social distancing to lack of live sports to trying to stay healthy, it impacts us nearly every minute. The dearth of in-person communication can be a bit rough, but we are all in it together.

Dallas Mavericks forward Justin Jackson sent out a tweet on Wednesday evening that sums up how everyone in basketball is feeling right now. See it here.

Nobody knows how much longer this will last. The NBA and other live sports will be back at some point. Everyone will be allowed to go to their favorite restaurants and bars again. Hopefully, we will all enjoy it a little bit more and feel privileged that we get the experience after missing it.

The Mavericks are hoping to get their shot in the playoffs before the end of 2020. It is an important step in the development of Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. It will be the first postseason experience for a slew of Mavs rotation players. Jackson is one of those men.

There is optimism around the league that basketball will return later this summer. No determination has been made, but the NBA is certainly making contingencies as you read this. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.

Please, be smart and stay safe. Continue following the guidelines set forth by public health officials. That is the fastest way to get back to normal life. Do not worry. We all enjoy watching Luka Doncic execute that beautiful pick and roll soon.
