The Mavericks entered the playoffs as the third seed that year. They had home court in the first round against the Portland Trail Blazers. LaMarcus Aldridge was the leading scorer on that deep Blazers squad. Future Maverick Wesley Matthews was their number two.

Fox Sports Southwest is playing game one on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT with game two immediately following at 9 p.m.

Why watch?

Dirk Nowitzki has a double-double to lead the Mavericks in game one. Jason Kidd gets hot for the Mavs scoring 24 on 14 field goal attempts. It is a low scoring contest to kick off their title run.

Dirk, Kidd, and Peja Stojakovic all go off in game two. The Mavericks run away with this one in the fourth quarter.

Dallas wins both games at home to take a two to zero lead in the series. All fans should tune in and watch the beginning of their historic run. It should be a joyous Wednesday evening of Mavericks basketball.
