The Dallas Mavericks were racing towards the playoffs before the NBA season came to a sudden halt. They had 40 wins in 67 games jumpstarted by Luka Doncic’s incredible second campaign. The 21-year-old cemented himself as a superstar that had the Mavs in every game.

Nobody knows how the 2019-2020 season would have played out. The Mavericks took a leap forward and have the look of a contending team for the foreseeable future. It is impossible to say where they would have finished or how far Dallas would have advanced in the 2020 playoffs, though.

Supporters may still get a chance to see what they can do. The NBA is undecided on when or if the season can resume. The momentum is gone, though. Players will basically have gone through an offseason if basketball comes back. That will have an impact on the final results.

The Mavericks grabbed control of the series by defeating the Nuggets on their home floor. They dominated the second and third quarters before Denver made a run in the fourth. It was not enough, though. The Mavs walked away with the 109-108 win.

Luka Doncic was the leading scorer for Dallas. He finished with 22 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists in 37 minutes of action. Luka was eight of 15 from the field including four 3-pointers made.
