Dallas Mavericks forward Justin Jackson is putting on the Call of Duty COVID-19 Relief Tournament. See which fellow Mavs agreed to join in.
The Dallas Mavericks have been at the forefront of fighting this pandemic. They were the team playing on ESPN when the NBA suspended the season. The Mavs sprang into action immediately following the game. Owner Mark Cuban announced he would pay stadium workers for the missed time that night.
They did not stop there. The Mavericks have been donating food, money, and time to those in need and the heroes on the frontlines fighting the novel coronavirus. Cuban has led the way, and the players have followed suit.
Justin Jackson is taking on the challenge of helping out in his own way. He organized the Call of Duty COVID-19 Relief Tournament. Jackson is leading one of the four teams in the event.
Fellow Mavericks Seth Curry and Jalen Brunson are also captains of their respective squads. The final team will be headed by Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox. Jackson and Fox were teammates in Sacramento for one and a half seasons.
Fans can watch the four NBA players and their teammates do battle on April 23 at 1 p.m. CT on Twitch. There figures to be plenty of trash talk.
Fans that have been following throughout the hiatus have seen the Mavericks on the sticks. Seth Curry was the captain as the Mavs defeated the Bucks in 3-on-3 NBA 2K20 action. Brunson and Jackson have both been streaming regularly on their Twitch channels. It should be a fun and competitive game on Thursday afternoon.
Hopefully, normal life and NBA season resume this summer. Please, listen, be smart, and stay safe during this challenging time. Remember that we are all in this together.
