Dallas Mavericks guard Seth Curry was an All-Star in the G League for two seasons before breaking out. Check out his must-see highlights from that time.

The Dallas Mavericks rewarded Seth Curry with a four-year $32 million contract before the season. That was the accumulation of hard work. The 29-year-old was not a prized high school recruit. He played a season at Liberty before transferring to Duke. Curry went undrafted after three years with the Blue Devils. He spent the next two seasons in the G League before earning his first consistent NBA minutes with the Kings in 2016.

It was not until he came to Dallas that he truly broke out, though. It was the first time in his career that he played more than 16.0 minutes per game. Curry proved he was a capable scorer and elite shooter in the breakout season.

It was not all sunshine from there, though. Curry missed the entire next campaign with a leg injury. He spent one year in Portland as an important bench piece on a Blazers squad that lost in Western Conference Finals before returning to Dallas.

Seth Curry earned his new contract. He has rewarded the Mavericks with exceptional play this season. Curry is second in the NBA in 3-point percentage while averaging 12.6 points per game.

Let us go back to his time in the G League and take a look at Curry’s impressive highlight reel.

He was All-Star both seasons. Curry played point guard for the Santa Cruz Warriors in 2013-2014. He averaged 19.7 points, 5.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. The following season, he played for the Erie Bayhawks. Curry averaged 23.8 points, 4.2 assists, and 1.4 steals a night.

Those years in the G League seem like a distant memory now. Seth Curry is a key piece of the Dallas Mavericks. Fans should expect him to continue his stellar play when the team returns to the court.

Hopefully, there is playoff basketball this season. Curry got hot in two postseason contests last year. Expect him to be a difference-maker for the Mavericks.
