Dallas Mavericks GOAT Dirk Nowitzki and current star Luka Doncic are the two newest members of the team’s all-time starting five as voted on by fans.

The Dallas Mavericks have been letting fans select the team’s all-time starting five. They put a series of ballots on their Twitter and supporters got to choose the Mavericks best five.

Fans knew two members entering Thursday. Jason Kidd edged Steve Nash in the opening round of voting. Jason Terry dominated the field to earn the second guard spot.

The third round of voting wrapped up on April 2, and the team got creative in filling the second forward spot. Let us take a closer look.

Remember, the vote was between current star Luka Doncic, Shawn Marion, Jamal Mashburn, and Josh Howard. Here is how the balloting shook out.

It should come as no surprise. None of those players made an All-NBA team while playing for the Mavericks. Luka Doncic is on pace to do just that this season. The 21-year-old is a top ten player in the NBA right now. The sample size may be small, but Doncic is already one of the greatest players in Mavericks history.

Filling out the forwards

Dirk Nowitzki was always going to one member of the team’s all-time starting five. He is the team’s GOAT, a legend, and an inner-circle Hall of Famer. The Mavericks decided to put up a Twitter poll anyway. Check it out below.

In case you do not know, those are all Dirk’s nicknames. Congrats to the Mavs GOAT for his unanimous selection to the team’s all-time starting five.
