Mavericks: Boban Marjanovic and Maxi Kleber try not to laugh
By Tyler Watts
Dallas Mavericks big men Boban Marjanovic and Maxi Kleber take turns telling jokes and trying not to laugh. See the hilarious results here.
Dallas Mavericks center Boban Marjanovic had one of the most improbable games of the season just before the NBA suspended play. Kristaps Porzingis was rested on the second night of a back-to-back and Dallas was facing the Nuggets. They needed someone to matchup on All-Star Nikola Jokic down low. Coach Rick Carlisle chose Boban for the assignment.
Marjanovic did not disappoint. He finished with 31 points, 17 rebounds, and two steals in 31.5 minutes of action. It was the first time he topped 23 minutes all season. That included 16 points in the fourth quarter to help the Mavericks grab the victory.
Here is a look back at Boban’s highlights from that incredible performance.
It will be interesting to see if that earns him more minutes going forward.
The 7’4 big man is also one of the funniest players on the Mavericks. He joined Maxi Kleber for a contest of seeing who could not laugh at the other person’s jokes. See it below.
The video certainly provided some humor during this difficult time. Hopefully, everyone is staying safe and enjoyed the clip.
Maxi Kleber is having a career year. The 28-year-old is averaging career-highs in points, assists, blocks and minutes per game. He has even stepped into a larger role after Dwight Powell suffered a season-ending injury.
Kleber excels on the defensive end of the floor. He can guard both at the rim and on the perimeter. That is a skill few players possess. Coach Carlisle has shifted to using him primarily at the five as the Mavericks go small. Expect Kleber to be a significant part of the Mavericks playoff rotation if play resumes this season.
