Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic grabbed his 22nd career triple-double on March 4 against the New Orleans Pelicans. See more here.

The Dallas Mavericks were back home on Wednesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. It was the first matchup between Luka Doncic and Zion Williamson. The Mavericks were also looking to get back in the win column after a disappointing loss in Chicago on Monday night.

Neither man disappointed. Luka Doncic had a 30-point triple-double as he led the Mavs to a 127-123 win in overtime. The rookie countered with 21 points and a few rim-rattling dunks. It was an important win for Dallas as they continue their pursuit to move up in the Western Conference standings. They are currently seventh.

Luka put on a show against the Pelicans. He finished with 30 points, 17 rebounds, and ten assists in 41 minutes of action. Here is a look at his best plays from March 4.

Doncic also made history on Wednesday night. He passed Jason Kidd for the most triple-doubles in Mavericks history. It was the 22nd of his career. Remember, Luka is only in his second season. Expect a lot more to come. The record for a career is Oscar Robertson with 181.

It was not the only bit of history Doncic made on Wednesday night. The 21-year-old did this against the Pelicans.

It was not all good news, though. Luka banged his thumb again. He had x-rays after the game. Expect Doncic to be listed on the injury report, but play on Friday night when the Grizzlies come to Dallas. It is something to monitor going forward. The thumb is unlikely to heal without rest. The Mavs star wants to play through it, though. Stay tuned.
