Dallas Mavericks: Goran Dragic offers high praise for Luka Doncic

The Dallas Mavericks played the Miami Heat on Friday night. Luka Doncic was the talk of the town. He was celebrating his 21st birthday. With the milestone day came plenty of chatter and stats to show how impressive Doncic has been since joining the NBA.

None of it should come as a surprise to Mavs fans. Just turn on the game and watch him for one minute. Luka is different. He is a 6’7 player capable of handling the ball and getting anywhere he wants on the court. Throw in his desire to get his teammates involved and Doncic is next level.

Doncic and Dragic were also teammates at EuroBasket 2017. They led Slovenia to their first-ever title in that tournament. Both players made the All-Tournament Team with Dragic winning MVP.

It is safe to say the two know each other well. Dragic has been a massive supporter of Luka since well before he came to the NBA. It was awesome to hear him pay him another compliment and then add in the friendly jab at the end.

Dragic’s Heat picked up the victory on Friday night as Luka Doncic struggled with his shot. The Mavericks star still managed to produce 23 points, four rebounds, and ten assists in the 126-118 loss in Miami. Expect Luka to bounce back on Sunday in Minnesota against the Timberwolves.
