The Dallas Mavericks begin a four-game road trip on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs. They have won three of their last four and are playing their best ball of the season.

The Spurs are going the other way. They have lost six of their last eight. San Antonio has also dropped both meetings against the Mavericks so far this season. The two teams square off one final time on March 10.

Jalen Brunson (shoulder) and Dwight Powell (Achilles) are the only two players out for the Mavericks according to the NBA’s official injury report. Willie Cauley-Stein is questionable as he deals with a personal matter.

LaMarcus Aldridge is the only player injured player on the Spurs report. He will not play because of right shoulder soreness.

Storyline to follow: Doncic vs. DeRozan

In both meetings this season, Luka Doncic and DeMar DeRozan have topped their respective teams in scoring. In the opening matchup, Luka had 42 and DeRozan countered with 36. Round two also went to Doncic 24 to 21.

Both men will be the focal points of their offense on Wednesday night. Expect a wild shootout between the two All-Stars. The Spurs will need more scoring from DeRozan with Aldridge sidelined. It will be a fun back-and-forth battle between the two.
