The Dallas Mavericks were hoping to head into the All-Star break on a high note. They hosted the Sacramento Kings in their final game on Feb. 12. It promised to be an exciting night inside the American Airlines Center.
Luka Doncic returned after missing seven straight games with a sprained ankle. The 20-year-old star was back to 100 percent and ready to lead Dallas to a win. It also paved the way for him to play in both the Rising Stars and All-Star game this weekend in Chicago.
The Mavs jumped out an early lead on Wednesday and never looked back. They picked up a 130-111 home victory to head into the break with 33 wins. That ties the mark they had all of last season.
Kristaps Porzingis produced another monster game. He finished with 27 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three blocks in 33 minutes of action. KP made 11 of his 16 field goal attempts against the Kings. Coach Carlisle had the luxury of resting his starters down the stretch because the Mavericks had a massive lead.
Luka Doncic was again the star for the Mavs, though. He produced 33 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and three 3-pointers made in 31 minutes. Doncic was ten of 18 from the field and ten of 12 on his free throws. Here is a look at some highlights and what fans can look forward to seeing.
