Injury update

The NBA’s official injury report lists Luka Doncic (ankle) and Dwight Powell (Achilles) as out for the Mavericks. They are the only two players mentioned.

The Jazz were without Ed Davis (back) on Sunday night. Be sure to check back for all the latest on both teams just before tipoff.

Storyline to follow: Slowing down Gobert

The Jazz won the only meeting between the two teams this season. It was thanks to a massive performance from Rudy Gobert. He played 37 minutes with 22 points, 17 rebounds, and five blocks. He was a perfect eight of eight from the field.

The Mavericks are going to have to do a better job on the inside to grab a win. Gobert got both Kristaps Porzingis and Maxi Kleber in foul trouble during the first showdown. They will have to be smarter or rely on Willie Cauley-Stein or Boban Marjanovic to check the All-Star. It will be an intriguing matchup on Monday night. Hopefully, the Mavs have an answer for Gobert.
