Dallas Mavericks center Dwight Powell is already working out just days after having surgery to repair his ruptured Achilles. See the latest here.

The Dallas Mavericks lost their starting center for the season on Jan. 21. Dwight Powell went down with a non-contact injury and had to be helped off the floor. It turned out to be a ruptured Achilles. The 28-year-old underwent surgery and faces a lengthy rehab before returning to the court.

The Mavs have some experience with Achilles injuries. They signed Wesley Matthews as he was rehabbing from a torn one in 2015. J.J. Barea also suffered a similar injury last season. The veteran point guard was ready to go by opening night which was incredible.

Dwight Powell met with the media on Feb. 5 for the first time since suffering the injury and having surgery. Let us take a closer look at some of the developments.
