The Dallas Mavericks are hoping to secure an upgrade on the wing before the Feb. 6 trade deadline according to Marc Stein. See the latest here.

The Dallas Mavericks are continuing their playoff push without Luka Doncic this week. They won their 30th game on Saturday while both of their star players were sidelined. Doncic will remain out this week because of a sprained ankle.

The Mavs remain a virtual lock to make the playoffs. It will be the first time since 2016. The Mavericks want to have success when they get there too. That is why they continue to search for upgrades as the trade deadline approaches.

The front office has already acquired Willie Cauley-Stein for a second round pick. They needed to make that move after losing Dwight Powell with a season-ending Achilles injury. WCS is filling in well and should only improve as he gains familiarity with the Mavericks system.

They are not done, though. Here is a look at what Marc Stein tweeted on Monday afternoon.

Mavericks fans may be upset that Stein is eliminating the team from contention for those two wings. They could still swoop in before Thursday. Here is a look at a few others that may be available.

Possible targets

Brad Townsend reported the Mavericks have taken a look at Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Other options could include Danilo Gallinari, Alec Burks, Glenn Robinson III, and E’Twaun Moore.

The Mavericks are limited in what they can offer in terms of draft picks, so it will be interesting to see if they can get another team to bite before Thursday’s deadline. The front office will certainly be active and willing to get a deal done. They just need to find a partner.

The Smoking Cuban will be back with all the trade deadline analysis and rumors, so Dallas Mavericks supporters must find their way back regularly.
