Mavericks: Luka Doncic shouts out Damian Lillard on incredible night

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic took to Twitter to shout out Damian Lillard on his incredible triple-double against the Rockets on Jan. 29.

The Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers produced multiple incredible battles over the last two seasons. They have been fueled by Luka Doncic and Damian Lillard going toe-to-toe. The two All-Stars always seem to be at their best against each other.

The stats back it up too. In his seven career games against the Blazers, Luka is averaging 26.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 6.6 assists. Lillard produced 34.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 7.9 assists versus Dallas in the last two seasons combined.

The game is usually tight too. All seven meetings have ended with a single-digit margin. The Mavericks have won four times with Doncic leading the way.

That is on the heels of Lillard sharing a ton of praise for Luka following their matchup in mid-January.

Lillard should be selected to his fifth All-Star team on Thursday night. Hopefully, he and Doncic are drafted to the same squad. It would be awesome to see the two share the backcourt during the game in Chicago.

The Mavericks and Blazers have one final meeting still to come this season. It takes place on March 19 in Portland. The Blazers will be looking to even up the season series on their home floor.
