The Dallas Mavericks have made an offer for veteran wing Andre Iguodala. Tim MacMahon reports Memphis is viewing it as a secondary option.

The Dallas Mavericks are still searching for ways to improve their roster ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline. They have All-Star starter and MVP candidate Luka Doncic to lead the way. Kristaps Porzingis is their number two, but the pieces around them could always improve.

The Mavs traded a second round pick for Willie Cauley-Stein last week. The center will help fill in the minutes lost when Dwight Powell suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Cauley-Stein made his Mavericks debut on Tuesday against the Suns.

Here is the latest Dallas Mavericks rumor.

Made an offer for Iggy

The Memphis Grizzlies plan on trading Andre Iguodala before the deadline passes. The veteran wing did not report to the team this season. The young Grizzlies figured to be out of contention, and Iguodala wanted another run at a title after winning three with the Warriors over the last six seasons.

Memphis is surprisingly eighth in the West, but Iggy still hasn’t shown up.

Tim MacMahon reported that executives are viewing Dallas as a “fallback option” for the Grizzlies in the pursuit to trade Iguodala. They are rightfully hoping to receive more in return. If the Mavs have the largest offer, expect Memphis to cash in and send the veteran to Dallas.

It will be interesting to see what the Mavericks can pull off at the deadline. The trades to acquire Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis preclude them for trading a first round pick, so the front office will have to get creative to make moves. The Mavs still have assets. The question is how desirable they are to other teams across the league.
