Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic got off to a fast start and never looked back on Jan. 23. He led the team to a victory over the Blazers in Portland.

The Dallas Mavericks traveled to Oregon to take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday evening. Fans knew it would be a treat. Luka Doncic and Damian Lillard always go toe-to-toe during their matchups. They were not disappointed during this TNT showcase game.

Lillard was on fire all night. He had 14 points in the first quarter and just kept building. Dame finished with 47 points, six rebounds, eight assists, and eight 3-pointers made. He was an incredible 16 of 28 from the field and made all seven of his free throws. Perhaps Lillard had a bit of extra motivation after not being named an All-Star starter on Thursday evening.

Trevor Ariza also had an impressive 21 points for the Blazers. It was his first game with the team. He was traded over from Sacramento this week for Kent Bazemore.

The Mavericks used a team-effort to thwart Lillard and the Blazers. Seven players scored in double-figures to help Dallas secure the 133-125 victory on Jan. 23. The Mavs kicked it off with a 45-point first quarter and never looked back.

Kristaps Porzingis had his first 20-point game since Dec. 20. The Unicorn hit three 3-pointers and blocked two shots. He was efficient from the field in his 25 minutes of action. KP is still ramping back after a knee injury sidelined him for ten games.

Luka Doncic once again led the way for Dallas. He finished with 27 points, six rebounds, nine assists, and two steals in 35 minutes of action. Here is a closer look at his performance.
