Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic produced a massive triple-double as he led the team to a road victory over the Sacramento Kings. See more on his historic night.
The Dallas Mavericks won two straight games entering the Jan. 15 contest against the Sacramento Kings. It was the second of a back-to-back on the road against a team hungry to make a playoff push. The Mavs had their hands full on Wednesday evening.
The night started with bad news. Kristaps Porzingis was expected to play. Coach Carlisle noted he would be back during his pregame press conference, but the 24-year-old was scratched just before tipoff. The team stated his knee soreness was the reason. It is definitely concerning.
The action on the court was all Mavericks, though. They scored at least 35 points in each of the first three quarters to take a massive lead. The Mavs never looked back in picking up a 127-123 victory in Sacramento.
Dallas used a team-effort to grab the win. Six players scored in double-figures, and the team shot 51.1 percent from the field.
Luka Doncic led the way for the Mavericks. He had his 12th triple-double of the season. Doncic finished with 25 points, 15 rebounds, and 17 assists on Wednesday. He shot eight of 18 from the field and hit nine of his ten free throws. The only thing missing was the 3-point shot. Luka missed all five of his attempts from deep.
