The Dallas Mavericks face the Kings in Sacramento on Jan. 15. Here is a look at what fans need to know before tuning into the game.

The Dallas Mavericks are fresh off a dominating victory over the Golden State Warriors. Dwight Powell had a phenomenal game, and Luka Doncic led the charge to sweep the season series from the Dubs.

Now, they face a second of a back-to-back against the Sacramento Kings. They got into the California capital late. Luckily, the Mavs rested their starters in the fourth quarter on Tuesday because the game was already in hand.

The Kings are looking to get back on track after losing two straight games coming in. Expect big games from De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield against the Mavs.

Here is a look at the odds, how to watch, and so much more about the Jan. 15 showdown.

Odds

Injury update

The Mavericks are on the second of a back-to-back so things could change quickly. Ryan Broekhoff will continue to be sidelined because of his broken leg. Kristaps Porzingis is questionable with his knee injury. It appears likely that he will play, but supporters need to check on his status closer to tipoff.

The NBA’s official injury report notes Richaun Holmes will not play because of a shoulder injury. Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle) is doubtful, and Nemanja Bjelica remains probable with a right ankle sprain.

Storyline to follow: Luka defeats the Kings

In his brief NBA career, Luka Doncic has played against the Sacramento Kings four times. The Mavericks are winless in those contest. They dropped all three meetings during his rookie season and one this year. Doncic will be hungry for his first win against the Kings.

Luka struggled in the first matchup this season. He committed six turnovers and shot just ten of 24 from the field. The Mavs need him to be more efficient.

They also must have a team effort to grab the win. If KP plays, he will likely have his minutes limited. That means others need to step up and fill the void.
