Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic was passed by LeBron James in the latest round of All-Star voting. Find out the totals and what it means here.
Dallas Mavericks fans want to get Luka Doncic to his first All-Star game this season. The 20-year-old star is more than deserving. He is averaging 29.6 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per game. Doncic has also propelled the Mavs into the thick of the Western Conference playoff race.
The only way supporters can ensure his spot is by making him the leading vote-getter in the Western Conference. That makes him captain of a team and allows him to pick his squad for the game. Luka was leading the entire NBA after the first returns.
The second set of numbers was released on Jan. 9. Here is a look at the totals.
LeBron passes Luka
LeBron James has edged past Luka Doncic. Four players have more than 3 million votes already. Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Doncic, and LeBron. The Mavs star trails James by 82,001 votes. Here is a peek at all the vote totals.
Dallas Mavericks fans need to get out and stuff the ballot boxes to ensure Luka Doncic is an All-Star. It would be awesome to see him be the captain of a team. The only way that happens is by fans voting until it closes on Jan. 20. Get out and make it happen.
If Doncic is not named captain, the fan vote only counts for 50 percent of the balloting. The media and players both get 25 percent to make up the starters. Doncic should still get in, but remember last season he was third in fan voting and failed to make the roster. There are no guarantees.
The Smoking Cuban will be back with plenty more on the All-Star balloting plus everything Luka Doncic this season, so returning frequently is a must for Dallas Mavericks supporters.
