Highlights and more

Luka Doncic closed out 2019 strong. It was his seventh game this season with 35-plus points. It was also his 15th game with double-digit rebounds and his seven assists are a nearly nightly occurrence.

In his typical fashion, Luka Doncic also produced a sturdy highlight reel too. Here are his best plays from New Year’s Eve.

His 29 field goal attempts were the second-most this season. He attempted 30 in a win over the Rockets in Houston on Nov. 24. Doncic needed someone else to step up and hit a few shots on Tuesday.

The injury updates on Kristaps Porzingis are a bit worrying. His knee soreness could linger. The Mavericks need someone to take over and be that second scorer while KP is out. Seth Curry is the most likely player. Coach Carlisle could also call on J.J. Barea to provide a spark to the offense.

The Dallas Mavericks open 2020 with a six-game homestand. The first game is on Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets. They remain in Dallas through their Jan. 11 contest against the Philadelphia 76ers. Hopefully, the Mavs can take advantage of the home court and grab at least four wins. Luka Doncic will be a massive part of the results either way.
