Dallas Mavericks forward Maxi Kleber was sidelined for the Nov. 3 game against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a knee injury. See the latest here.

The Dallas Mavericks faced off against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. Luka Doncic continued his hot start producing his third triple-double of the season in the Mavs 131-111 victory.

It was a fantastic team win. Kristaps Porzingis had 18 points and six blocks. Jalen Brunson earned a start and finished with 14 points. Boban Marjanovic had an outstanding performance scoring 12 points with eight rebounds in 15 minutes of action.

The Mavericks were missing a key piece of their rotation, though. Maxi Kleber was held out with a knee injury. Mark Followill shared Coach Carlisle’s quotes from pregame.

The Mavs have an off day on Monday as they travel back to Dallas. The injury does not appear to be long-term. Hopefully, Kleber will be back in the lineup when they play the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. The 6’11 big man should be considered questionable for that game as of this writing.

Kleber has played an important role so far. He is third on the team in minutes and rebounds per game. The 27-year-old is averaging 1.6 blocks too. Kleber has struggled with his shot, but his defense has made a difference.

Mavs need Kleber

The Dallas Mavericks have a favorable schedule this week. They face the Magic on Wednesday before hosting the Knicks on Friday. The Mavs also play in Memphis on Saturday in their first back-to-back of the season.

They need Kleber back for one of those last two games especially if Kristaps Porzingis is going to be rested. Without Kleber and KP, the Mavs would be down to just Dwight Powell and Boban Marjanovic as traditional big men. That does not allow Dallas to match up well against the Knicks or Grizzlies because both teams have size.
