Dallas Mavericks GOAT Dirk Nowitzki heaped plenty of praise on Kristaps Porzingis during his annual charity tennis event.

Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki held his annual tennis tournament on Sept. 15. It is a charity event featuring professional tennis players and other celebrities to raise money to help children in need.

The event is always a chance to catch up with Dirk after the offseason. This year it was a bit different because he retired at the end of last season. Nowitzki is not preparing for the grind of an 82-game NBA regular season. Instead, he is excited for more charity work and spending time with his family.

The legend still has plenty of thoughts on the Dallas Mavericks, though. Here is what Dirk Nowitzki had to say about Kristaps Porzingis courtesy of Dwain Price.

That should come as no surprise. Dirk shared similar praise on the day the Mavs traded for Porzingis.

Powell excited about KP too

Dwight Powell took part in Dirk’s Tennis Classic on Sunday. He was also asked about Porzingis and had fantastic things to say. Fans can read more about it here.

Porzingis should significantly impact the Mavericks play on both ends of the floor. During the 2017-2018 season, he finished second in the NBA in blocks per game while hitting 39.5 percent of his 3-pointers.

KP truly lives up to his “Unicorn” nickname. He is 7’3 with a vast skill set. Porzinigs uses his length well in protecting the rim. He also could grow into a 40-plus percent 3-pointer shooter this season. Expect another monster season from the All-Star big man.

Dallas Mavericks fans should be excited about the upcoming year. There is just over a month until the regular season kicks off. The Smoking Cuban will be here all year providing news, analysis, and opinions that cannot be found anywhere else, so returning regularly is recommended.
